While I went through my boyish Vonnegut phase when I was 18 like everyone else, and I considered him less and less a deep thinker as I grew up (or became more cynical), he was in my mind a great human being, one who cared deeply about things and only wanted the very best for the world.  As someone said to me today, "The aggregate IQ of the human race dropped significantly last night."</description>
